Thank you both.  I know that DAMMM scale!!!!  UGH!  I dread standing on it but cant start my day without it!!!  UGH!!!!

I appreciate your words.  I only have a total of 115 lbs to lose.  I know I can do it.  I just need to be more patient.  Ah, the words of my mom.....you need more patience!!!  If I had a dollar for every time I heard that!!

I remember when I thought I was done losing weight.  I got frustrated and thought, alright...this is the weight I'm going to live with.  I bought new clothes and mentally prepared myself.   Over the next three months, I lost another 45 lbs.

Don't be discouraged, be patient.  Focus on your meals, watch what your eating and be sure protein is the focus.  I ate "Pure Protein" bars from Wal-Mart and they went down very well.  I still eat them now as they are 20+ grams of protein each and fill me up.

It WILL BE OK.

Take a breath!

You're 6 weeks out, which is when your body finally goes "Wait a minute, WTF? What's going on here?"  Most everyone pauses in their loss right around there for a couple of weeks.  Make sure you are getting plenty of protein and fluids, your body will realize that it doesn't need to go into starvation mode, and your loss will pick back up.  When was the last time you lost 23 pounds in 6 weeks?  Also, you're gonna be hormonal for a while because of the rapid weight loss, so that contributes to the freak-out over this.  At 2 months out, I bawled at the dealership counter because my oil change cost $5 more than I expected!

Everything is going to be okay!

Just remember... it's about the journey to health, not the number. Easier said than done but you will come to realize that the journey is long and we won't get results yesterday and that's ok. :)

You're not alone; I had surgery 2 days after you (RNY) and am only down 20.6 lbs.  I had a 2 week span where I lost nothing, and after that I seem to average about a 3 lb. a week loss.  I think I have come to realize that I am going to be a slow loser, and that's ok.  I spent so much time frustrated with myself & the scale that 1st month (after 1 month post-op I was only down 13.6 lbs.) that I have finally just accepted that I am different from other people, my body is losing at a slower rate, try not to compare my losses to others (since we're all going to lose at different rates), and to not let it get me down anymore.  I'm enjoying the small WOW moments that occur (like I'm no longer in size 28 pants & size 4x shirts) and that even though the scale doesn't show that much of a loss I can tell I'm losing inches.

Have you taken your measurements, so you can have something to compare things to?  If you're not losing pounds you're probably losing inches.  That might help you to not feel so frustrated; at least you'll see a victory somewhere else.  I've also found, that as much as I keep telling myself not to weigh-in daily I still do, so just realize that you may not see lots of loss in a 1 day span vs. waiting a few days or a week.  When we weigh-in daily we have to remember that somedays we'll be up & somedays we'll be down, so try not to get discouraged.
