Since I'm so far out...surgery wise...not that "far out" otherwise...wow moments don't come as often. But here are a few:
After nearly 7 years....I'm STILL at goal and wearing a size 8 ...down from a 28!
My primary doctor told me that I'm her MOST successful WLS patient!
My labs are still great.
There are even more people in the world who never knew me fat.
I'll take those.

It was an amazing year!!
*I am no longer diabetic, no longer have high BP, no longer have sleep issues.
*I am off 12 of my 14 meds!! I feel good when I wake up in the morning!!
*I am exercising 5 days a week!! (except the last 2 weeks because of shoulder surgery but can start the recumbant bike on the first.)
*I have self confidence again.
*I can shop somewhere other than Lane Bryant.
Best of all? I have met some of the most fabulous people who continue to inspire me!

I fit into lots of clothes I wouldn't be able to wear.
I move easier.
I don't have trouble with chairs with arms on them.
I have a bit more energy.
I'm excited and hopeful about the next year!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
One Year Post Op and as I reflect back on the past year here are few things that come to mind.
- completed my first 5k run without stopping!
-walk up the stairs with out pain and losing my breath
-having more energy and getting so much done in one day.
-riding in an airplane seat and having space on the sides.
-buying clothes in a regular store and having things fit off sale rack.
-bending down to tie my shoes and not having my stomach in way.
-acutally looking forward to a warm vacation and not dreading being in a swimsuit (well kind of but for different reasons)

* Every single day, I enjoy walking with legs that don't rub each other! I pray I never take that for granted. I may even try wearing cords again, just to prove I won't start any fires!
* Despite having the personal year from hell, I have lost weight, rather than gain any back
* Although I had to have surgery in August to remove ovarian tumors (benign, thank you God), my surgeon - the wonderful Dr. Thomas Jones - removed a significant chunk of belly flubber. It was a gift I never allowed myself to even hope for!
* As a result of the above, I made it into size 14 jeans. As something of an Amazon who once wore 36's, that's beyond comprehension.
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful

Could fit into college clothes - and now they're too big
Legs and arms don't go to sleep very easily
Men are looking at me. (It started with me looking around to see who they were REALLY looking at - Shocked me to death when I realized it was me!)
Fit into a booth at a restaurant easily
No longer crave carbs (Holy cats that's a huge one!)
Tried on my wedding dress from 5 years ago and it FELL off of me. There's about 7 inches of extra fabric if you pull it to make it fit me.
My confidence level is soaring - Who is this person?
After seeing a recent pic of me, my Grandma emailed me and said "I never knew you looked like that! You really are SOO beautiful!" (It made me cry)
My always-skinny sister is jealous of ME for once.

Here is most of my list of what I have over come to be where I am at today:
Walking on stilts.
Climbing stairs, and skipping ones between.
Walking/riding bike long distances.
Enjoying exercise.
Buying small clothes, for less money.
Less back issues.
Being called Skinny/Twiggy.
Shopping at "Fun" clothing stores.
Going from 257 to 123
Being half the woman I used to be
Losing around 122 total inches from head to toe.
Going down 29 sizes from head to toe.
The part my head doesn't wrap around is that I can wear a size 4 pants. In my lightest days in high school I remember being a size 7, never a 4. I know sizes/styles have changed over the years but WOW!
Those are some of my Wow*zer moments for 2009.

Wondering why my size 14's would not stay up and I had to keep pulling on them.... then my friend saying, "Maybe, you are not a size 14".
Being able to cook, clean, and be on my feet all day without pain or discomfort.
