New Years Goals?

With the new year just around the corner, what are some of your goals? Here's some of mine:

* To exercise at least 30 minutes every day.
* To stop eating after 9pm (I usually wor****il 11pm)
* No grazing!

* Do more things with my friends.

*
Find a church that I am comfortable in and get there every week.

I'm sure I will think of many more of them, but these are at the top of my list.

I like this one.
My New Year's goals are (not in order of importance):
1)Lose 10 pounds
2)Excercise at Gold's Gym at least 2 times per week
at least 50 minutes each session doing
cardio and weights
3)Stop Grazing is my biggest goal
4)Record everything I eat and drink
5)Be more concientious about my school work
6)Pray every night for friends and family for their
health and that they may find jobs
7)Stop spending without asking myself: Do I want it
or is it needed?
8)Get finances to a point where we can save some money
each paycheck.
9)Thank God every night for my blessings
10) Start reading the Bible from cover to cover trying
to get through it all in 2010.

I like your goals. I started reading the Bible a few months ago and slacked off. I could only read a little at a time, but when I did read it I found it so interesting. I have this card thing that lists how you can read the entire Bible within a year just by reading 20 minutes a day. I know I can do that as I love to read.

For years most of us had the same New Years Goals; Lose weight, exercise more etc...

Those were never mine. I always set the same goal year after year : I gave up Helicopter lessons. Yes, that is what I said, not a typo. That way I didn't have to really give up anything or strive to find the rainbow at the end of a goal. I also didn't have to worry about failing to complete that goal.

Now that I have my health and no fear of exercising etc.. I have finally set a couple of "real" goals to work on in 2010!

I made a poster and taped it up to my office closet door, that way it is looking me in the face daily!!

1. To Explore/Do=  I will do.... I will explore new....
Do a 5 or 10k race this winter.
                                  Try cross country skiing.
                                  Try ice skating
                                   Do some dancing

2. Focus/Action= I must take action..... I shall stay focused on.... I am important!
                               1. Find a small PT job.
                                2. Pay off a few bills (with money from PT job)
                                3. Put money into savings.

3. Courage= To act I must believe, To believe I must have courage: I believe I can..... If scared I will ask for .....

Looking forward to facing 2010!

Wow, you really got me motivated and thinking differently. I'm going to have to change mine and think in a different way. I also really like your poster. I would need one in every room to keep me focused and on track!

When I was being naughty and "slipped" back into old habits I discovered and got addicted to Mint & Raspberry Moose tracks ice cream. I actually fell in love! I finally got my butt back on track & haven't had any in 2 months?? I never was an ice cream person before. Stay away from Moose tracks!

This got me thinking...

1) Get to the gym more often (at least 3-4 times a week).  I will chat with my friend & make a workout date of every Monday, Wednesday & Friday, and then work in at least 1 other day on my own.

2) Stop being so scale obsessed.  Since I recently had surgery (about 5 1/2 weeks ago) I can't keep myself from weighing in daily.  It's great to see little losses, but it's also frustrating to see the scale not move or go up.  I need to limit my weigh-in's to only once per week; pick a day & stick to it & have that be my only weigh-in day.  Maybe I'll have my hubby hide the scale so I'm not tempted.

3) Try new things.  I have no set things I want to try yet, but as I lose weight & become more healthy I want to make sure I'm much more active than I used to be.  I also want to try new things since hopefully I'll feel more comfortable with myself and I'll have more ability to do so since I won't be carrying around so much weight.

Notice I am not saying lose weight.  Even though that is what I plan to do in 2010, I have no set amount in mind, I just want to see where this journey takes me & appreciate little WOW moments along the way.  I don't want to place unrealistic goals upon myself, not reach them, and then find myself frustrated & let down.  So, I instead will take any amount of weight loss my body is willing to give me & will enjoy getting to know my new body!

All of your responses have really got me thinking as well. I have thought of new things as well as realized different things about myself. I used to live, I would bike ride, swim, ice skate, go out, yada, yada, yada and then I stopped living. I want to live again. I want to try new things and do things I used to do. Heck I even want to do a marathon and I have never been a jogger/runner even when I weighed 128 pounds!

I wish everyone luck, even though we don't need it, I wish everyone success for 2010!!
