Sunday: How Are You Moving?
I walked 2.5 miles on snowy roads this morning. The picture below is the sight that greeted me when I returned home. It was a beautiful day and I hardly got cold. That was due, I think, to the fact that I was wearing a red and black plaid wool "Elmer Fudd" jacket over two shirts. The jacket is about 25 years old and until the last year I have been unable to wear it because I was too big to zip it up. It is actually a little big now, but I love to wear it, even if it is dorky.
On my daylight walks I traipse past a lake that now has a few icefishing houses out on it. There was a fellow getting his portable fishhouse ready to go out on the ice, but he was worried about pulling it through some slush near shore. As I walked on I wondered if he actually got out fishing or not. Seeing people out and about on my walks is usually less exciting than seeing wildlife, but I like to imagine their stories nevertheless. I don't think the man I saw was a weight loss surgery patient, but you never know. Maybe it is the untold and unknown stories of the people and animals I see that gets me going to walk most days. How did you move today?
