OT: A Dog Named Miller Lite

I went for a 2-1/2 mile walk on this beautiful winter's day; the snow was falling lightly and the temperature was around 20 degrees with no wind.  Everything was coated in white from the foot or so of snow we had gotten over the past few days.  I saw no adults outside of their cars while I was on my walk.  In fact the only two people I saw outside were a boy about 4 years old and his sister, who was about 6.  They proudly announced that they were building a snow fort and introduced me to their dog.  At first I thought the boy said the dog's name was Noah, but the girl corrected me and said "His name is Miller, like in Miller Lite beer".   Miller is an exceedingly friendly dog, part Rotweiler and I am not sure what else.  He usually follows me for a block or two if he is outside when I walk by.  When the kids told me his name, my immediate reaction was to think that they must have a tough life with parents that name their dog after a favorite beverage.  How distinctly uncharitable of me.  The kids were happy and well-dressed, just spending some time outside enjoying the day with their friendly dog.

Most of us here have experienced too much judgement from others in our lives  I try to live by the dictum "Judge not lest ye be judged".  That approach usually serves me well, but I apparently overlooked it today, humbled by a couple of little kids and a nice dog named Miller Lite.

Ok...I'm going to put some humor in this one!!  Perhaps they named the dog Miller as in Miller Lite and they are going to train him to get the beer out of the fridge for them!  Just like the commercial...  Now if I could only teach my dogs to get the shower going, have the bathroom all warm and a fresh towel every time, maybe I would have to rename them Sudsy!

Amazing how easy it is to judge others.  Miller is a cute name.  I call my pom Oscar, or twit incorporated, due to his pom nature.  He doesn't mind, just loves any attention he gets.

Judge Not is a good way to live life.  I myself need to focus on that a bit more when I see people ignoring their children to talk on the phone or taking a baby out in the winter without a hat....

On the subject of pets tho...you guys will get a kick out of my cats nickname.  Her real name is Kuro Shiro which means black and white in Japanese (she is a tuxedo) and we call her KuShi mostly but also Fat-a-kins, Thunderfluff, and ChunkyLove!  She weighs in at 16lbs but she is active and happy so thats all that matters to me!
