My Six Months - 12/16/09
6 months out yesterday.. had my checkup today and the dr. was very pleased with my progress. I'm 50% of the way to my goal... I'm healthy and getting stronger.
I've had very few set backs, and the ones I had were normal and unavoidable... (food poisoning recently and heat stroke right after the surgery)
Just for fun, there is an album on my profile that is public called "This time last year." There are two pictures.. The picture taken at my sons choir concert last year was the one that made me realize that I needed to try RNY. The other one is this year - a much happier, fitter me. (sorry my computer won't let me post it on here - if anyone wants to do it for me that would be great!)
For the newbies reading this - I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.. I just wish I had done it years ago. It's not the easy way out, but it definitely makes the goal much more attainable.
Thank you to all of you for your support - it's made this journey much less scary.

Keep doing what you're doing; even if the weight may be coming off slower than you had anticipated as long as you're feeling better & healthier that's all that matters!!
I have lost 55% so its good to hear us "average joes" are doing what we're doing right and losing!
I had a set back the 2nd week of Nov with h1n1 and that stalled me out too.. So I hear ya.
I can't believe what a difference -63 lbs has made in my life as well!
Yay for us huh?
Stacy
Thank you everyone!
I am hoping to make it to coffee tomorrow morning.. Burnsville right?
Six months truly has gone fast - my son has lost about 30 pounds this past year and I passed on the compliments to him - I'm sure he is beaming at them.
Pictures really are a GREAT way to help you to see the progress. I hung the two pics up on my whiteboard at work to remind me of why I don't want/need any of the holiday goodies floating around here.
You all have been such an inspiration to me - even the newbies awaiting surgery. Your bright eyed enthusiasm helps me remember how quickly this has truly all happened and that another six months will be gone before I know it.
Thanks for always sharing your stories, encouragement and praise... What an awesome support network we have here!
Happy Holidays!
Stephanie
