17 months out! Love my band!
I am 17 months out, 115lbs down and 15lbs from goal... the journey has been the most amazing journey I have EVER had and a life saver, might I add. There have been ups and downs, but what would a journey be without bumps in the road that make you hit your head on the ceiling, pot holes that ruin your rims and blac**** that makes you swerve out of control? LOL I mean, what fun would it be if the journey was perfect? LOL Plus... the harder I work for it, the more worthy of it I feel.
I went to a specialist doctor today. He saw that I had the band (in my chart). He asked me about my weight loss and congratulated me, then asked how much I wanted to still lose. I said, "Fifteen pounds." He said, "Fifty?" I corrected him and then he said, "Oh ok, because you do NOT need to lose 50lbs... 15 is good." Haha.... that made me feel great! :)
I was scared to get surgery... I started it with pure hopelessness after tries and tries and many failures. I was convinced I was doomed to die from obesity. Now I have my life back... I cannot begin to explain how much I love my band... it's like a miracle.. but also a miracle that had a lot of effort behind it.
Here's my lovely band, hehe:

You BET you did the work for it, Elena. No one understands until they have it that temptations and difficulties continue to lurk. WE have to be the ones that make the decisions each day. Many banders don't lose like you have - your dedication is obvious.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
