A little blue....24 days out from OPEN VBG
As sad as this sounds, I am glad someone else is going thru this slow loss bologna. Its funny, while I can seem to stop weighing myself, I allowed myself to eat a bit more yesterday. I had 1/2 cup of Chunky sirloin soup for lunch and 1/2 cup of Spaghetti Os with meat balls for dinner thinking....ugh...Im gonna be up! Darn if I didnt lose a lb yesterday! WTF!!
I am able to lay on my sides when I sleep now. It is uncomfortable initially but then I fall alseep. it doesnt last long cuz when I move, it hurts and I wake up. But still a huge milestone as I am a side sleeper. So, I am getting better.
Thanks for the nice words. I am here too! I wanna get my tracker thing up but dont know how to do it. I will figure this out someday!! lol

Hey, sweetie! Sounds like you've gotten some excellent advice about the "slow" loss (totally normal!) so I'll leave that one alone.
I have a couple of ideas for you:
Look at Sargento string cheese. I read the labels for every package of string cheese within about a 20 mile radius of my house, and that brand has the most protein- 7g per stick. If it's something you tolerate well early out, it's gonna be a staple for a while, and if you can find one with a little more protein, it adds up. I'm 4 months out and still eating it every day!
My surgery was open, too. I'm a side/stomach sleeper, and was miserable sleeping on my back for the first couple of weeks. By three weeks out or so, I was able to sleep on my side and even on my stomach a little by propping a really squishy down pillow under my incision.
Best of luck to you! You're doing great, and everything sounds pretty normal!

Awwww thank you! This week is so much better (I am 29 days out) I can sleep on either side IF I move slowly and I even went to the Y and walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes. Things are better. I am down 3 lbs since monday...that feels nice. I cant break the scale habit! I did skip a day however....(baby steps!)
I think I am on the right track....things will get better!!!!
Thank you!

With all due respect to Sarah, I would re-consider the cheese thing if you're having problems with your BM's. Cheese plugs many people up. That's all I'll say about that.
As for the going up .2oz? Honey, forgive me, but if I was in the room with you and heard you complain about that, I'd be forced to reach out and b*tch slap you. Your body will NOT go steadily down without fluctuations.
Why? Because you are female, and I'm assuming you still have monthlies. That alone will make you bounce around a bit at certain times, and if you're weighing yourself daily and stressing out over it, you have only yourself to blame. PUT THE SCALE AWAY FOR YOUR FIRST 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR. You can weigh yourself at your clinic when you see your doc, and you'll be pleasantly surprised by those larger drops. You still went through the fluctuations, but withou****ching them, they hardly matter! And if you're no****ching the number daily, you'll be less likely to be forgiving and allow yourself to try evil things when you DO see a nice drop, IMHO.
Also, your body will lose like stairs - pounds, then inches, then some more pounds, then a few more inches... So when you watch your scale too closely and the pounds stop, you beat yourself up, and probably eat less. Which puts your body into "Oh hell no, I'm hanging on to everything I've got!" mode, which means you will stop losing for a while longer. You have to feed yourself to lose. If you starve yourself, your body clings to what it has.
Also, once you can comfortably start to exercise, don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat, so you could possibly even experience a bit of gain - MUSCLE GAIN - and panic all over again! But muscle gain is a GOOD THING, because muscle burns fat!
Pay more attention to the NSVs - the Non-Scale Victories - you experience along the way! Looser clothes, more energy, less sweating, fitting comfortably in your car - movie theater seats - restaurant booths, etc...
So seriously, put that scale away. It's highly unlikely that you'll lose weight while you're looking at it. Just do what you're supposed to, and it will work for you!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
WOW! Well thank you for the email! I did channel back on the cheese. Switched to yogurt because I did some reading on the cheese too.
I am going to the YMCA tonight (for the 1st time in a year!) with my 2 younger kids. Im still sore and plan to just use the treadmill or bike.
I am SO addicted to my scale-I didnt realize how badly. I am not sure I can put it away, but I will attempt to make it only 1x a week. Im not sure why I need it but the thought of not having it, gets me a little uptight. Weird, I never knew I had any addictions.
Again, my thanks for the email. Baby steps to my goal.
