anyone in Northern MN about to have surgery or just have surgery?
Always nice to meet more MN members. I had RNY 3 months ago in Duluth.

Hi Kelly, doing grand. Taking things one day at a time. Enjoying the snow from indoors.
How are you these days Kelly?

I'm doing great! :)
I moved into my new house the end of October and it feels great to be settled again. I was temporarily living with a family member who was going through cancer treatment. Its nice to settle into a routine again and my loved one is cancer free now so life is good! (Not to mention I have high speed internet! I was having a hard time posting here due to not having high speed and I was using my cell as a modem which was okay but not the same!)
Surgery-wise I found out on 12/2 that I got approved for surgery after the first request for a prior auth so I was pretty shocked. Kinda numb, really because I thought it would take longer than that. So now I'm waiting on a surgery date but the office says it'll probably be late January which works for me both work-wise and personally.
So now I'm here, reading and doing more researching. Getting more control over food choices and eating slowly/chewing ect. . . I've been doing some journaling every day and need to get more consistent with exercising. I ordered a treadmill and it NEVER WORKED. Talk about frustrating! I'm waiting on a part and then a technician will come fix it. What a fiasco!
So tell me about you! How are things going post-op with your eating and everything? Anything I should know about the post op period? I'm not having the exact same procedure but got any suggestions or "scoop" on the hospital situation? I worked in the hospital years ago so I'm sure I'll be recognized by some folks on the floor. But oh well...who cares. this is about me, afterall!
