Coffee Question...

First a thank you to those who welcomed me to the board by posting on my initial post.  Very kind of you and I appreciate it.  I went to the coffee in Eagan this Saturday and got a chance to meet Elena and Kristi (?) and Troy and Nicole and Melissa (?) and ummm...  I suck at names!  There were 7 of us there.  I asked many wuestions and got great thoughtful answers and learned some new things.  I think the biggest take-away from it all though is that you are not alone in this journey and your fellow travelers are ready and willing to help out in any way they can.  That is very cool and inspiring!  Thank you for that!!  I will do my best to pay it forward...

So here is my coffee question...  Where/when are the various coffees around the metro?  I live in downtown Minneapolis so I can go anywhere...  I saw a couple of meetings during the week in the evening (or was that just for the holidays?) and I know about Roseville and Eagan/Burnsville...  Where might the others be and is there a central repository for that information?

Again thanks to everyone here and while I wait for my insurance approval I will keep reading and learning...

It was great meeting you at coffee on Saturday!!  I was the one who just had surgery.

Hope to see you again at another upcoming coffee meetup; we'll be in Burnsville this week (I believe).

Kevin,
Coffee groups are typically every other week throughout the year.  Usually someone who will be attending in a particular location will post a reminder a few days before.  The best thing to do is jus****ch the board.  Several locations are regular such as Maple Grove (the best...ok I'm biased) Eagan, Roseville.  Some are not as frequent but occasional such as St. Cloud, Minnetonka, Duluth, Eden Prairie...Some are spontaneous where it will be an off week and someone is craving it so they'll post it.  There are no rules to my knowledge.  If you want to throw one out we know at least one person will be there.

Once or twice a year someone will through out an all coffee mixer, which means everyone is invited.  We have done this in Hopkins which is pretty central to everyone, but we've also done it in Stillwater which is a road trip.  I recall North Branch having one.

Hope to see you at one...make sure you visit the MGroovy sometime.

Hi Kevin.  Nice to "meet" you.  I live in NE Minneapolis, and both my spouse and I are having WLS.  I had mine, in fact, Sept. 29 and his is scheduled for Dec. 16!  Anyway, we have been going to the Roseville coffee that is every OTHER week, with the off week in West St. Paul.  I think many of them are interesting and fun and have in common what you mention:  people willing to share their information and experience.  It has been vastly helpful to me.

I don't think there's a central repository, however, they are usually posted on this board before the weekend, sometimes as late as Friday afternoon.  Hope that helps.

Typically the main coffees (RV,MG,Eagan) meet e/o weekend. I think Burnsville meets on an inbetween weekend from those and the RV "group" meets every week.. they alternate between RV and WSP @ "Pirks" coffee shop on Robert street near Home Depot.

Hope that isn't too confusing.

I need to stop having plans on Saturdays.. I keep missing coffee and they are very valuable!
