OT - Job/Surgery Update

The job's still on...I start Dec. 7th.

As for the surgery, I'm going to hold off until sometime after the new year.  It's a little more major and with a longer recovery period than I thought.  Nothing he said changes my decision to go for it, but the timing just isn't right now with me starting the job next month.

And has anything like this happened to any of you?  After he asked me what I was doing for Thanksgiving (I'll just be home), he invited me to his house for dinner!  He said they always have family, friends and neighbors and said I would fit right in.  He gave me his number and said to call his wife for directions.

Thanks, Jess.  Yeah, when I found out the hospital stay and recovery period would be longer than I expected, I decided I need to get settled in the new job first.  I do want to schedule it in the next 2-3 months, though.

Congratulations on the new job!  I think you are wise to postpone surgery until after you get settled in at work, as long as it isn't life-threatening.

What a supernice doctor!

Thanks, Linda.  No, it's not life-threatening, like my last surgery in June (due to blood loss).  It's just something I have to do for me...I don't want to wonder some day "What if?"

And yes, he IS a nice doctor!
