OT - I GOT A JOB!!!

Sorry for all caps in the subject, but I WAS shouting that! 

I got a job with Allina, starting Dec. 7th.  It's one of the six temp jobs they had that I interviewed for.  It's a long-term temp position with casual hours, but at least my foot's in the door for a permanent position!  And it's in my degree field (Health Information Technology).  I can finally breathe a little again!

AND - I just got scheduled today for surgery on Dec. 31st.  Some of you may know I had my colon removed in June and was left with an ileostomy.  Well, I saw the surgeon recently and he said everything looked good and I could go ahead with the take-down surgery to hook me back up again.

I'm still having to take out retirement money to live on for now, but at least it was there.  When it rains, it pours, huh? 

Good news on the job, Nancy!  Hope that all works out well for you - no easy task landing a job these days.  Congratulations to you.

Thanks, Mary!  I was ready to take most anything that came my way.  If I end up working at least 20 hours a week, I'll even get benefits!

Thanks, Shannon!  The doc's office called back and he wants to talk about it first, but I'm hoping to be able to keep the surgery date.  I see him on Wed.

Congrats on the job, Nancy!   It's tough out there.  I'm looking now, too, but did take advantage of my time off to have WLS.   Back to work (soon, I hope!) I'll go as a healthier person!
