Melissa (meldave00) Had Surgey Toady....All is well!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for posting the update for me Kristy!!
I was released on Saturday (yesterday) after a rough couple of days in the hospital. The care there, by all the staff, was amazing, I just didn't do well with the pain of the actual surgery. Thankfully I only had one time where I vomitted a little bit (I think from just drinking or 'eating' too fast). I'm soooo glad to be home now, in the comforts of my own home to recover. Each day the pain is getting a bit better & I'm up moving around as much as I can. Tomorrow I plan to walk outside (bring my girls to their bus stop & pick them back up again) so I'm looking forward to see how that goes.
The full liquid diet is going well. I'm adjusting to all the crazy sounds coming out of my stomach area; it's like everytime I eat or drink my stomach puts on a symphony! LoL!
I do have blood in my stool, did anyone else have this after surgery? The nurse told me it was nothing to worry about since it's darker blood which means that it's old blood & is just from the surgery. That started yesterday (day 2) and is still going on today. I have my 1st follow-up appt. with the PA & physical therapist on Tuesday, so if it's still happening then I'll be sure to bring it up to him.
I am sooooooooooo glad to have the surgery behind me & can now get on to starting my life over, fresh & new! I look forward to not feeling anymore pain so I can walk & exercise more. But day by day things are getting better & I can't wait for the weight to start coming off & for me to start enjoying this new healthy lifestyle!!!
Thanks so much for all your well wishes! I can't wait for your surgery date Kristy; it'll be here before you know it!
