It's hard to believe!

Last thursday I met my surgeon.  I can't believe that it is actually this close.  I have done things that I never thought I would do...like quit smoking.  I have surprised myself on a few occasions during this process.  I also found out that I had sleep apnea and have been adjusting to machine.  I love seeing all the posts on post surgery journeys.  I want to thank-you all for sharing your stories and for being an inspiration.

Your surgery date will be here before you know it...I met with the MD on the 10th, paperwork submitted on the 11th, approved on the 16th, surgery date 12/14. Congrats on quitting smoking! The rest should be a breeze after conquering that feat. Good luck with everything!

I'm only a month and a half out from surgery - I was nervous too.  I felt a lot of different emotions - I spent some time being mad at myself that I let it get to this point (having to have surgery to drop the weight), I spent some time worrying about complications too, and I spent even more nervous time wondering how I will feel afterward.  The first 4 weeks were the worst for me.  The diet restrictions were hard (and boring).  But the results were SO FAST! It felt like I woke up one day and I looked totally different!  Maybe about 2 weeks out - it was so noticeable i didn't care what the diet restrictions were.

I don't regret this surgery one bit - and I am looking at it as a GIFT.  I can't believe I've gotten this "do over" and will always be so thankful for it.  You will be so happy once the surgery is over and the pain subsides (I didn't have much pain at all actually so don't spend any time worrying about that).

Good for you for going this far and making the hard decision to change your LIFE!
