HI Everyone

The RNY went very smoothly and was about 2 hours.  I did ended up having a massive umbilical hernia repair which was an additional 4 hours.  That is where ALL my pain is.  It had been very difficult trying to get the pain under control.

I was only in the hospital for the night.....freaked me out!  I got alot more rest once I did get home, so I guess that was a good call.  My mom was with me most of the weekend.  She had me up and walking everywhere.  2 hours on Saturday at Cub Foods and again 2 hours at Walmart yesterday.  It did help relieve alot of pain.  I was sore when I got home and laid down. It only hurts really bad is when I am trying to get up from the couch.

I am truely glad it is finally done.  I am not hungry at all.  It has been a fight to get in all of the water.  I am getting better as the days go by.  I am getting in 2 protein shakes a day, about 50g of protein there and some small additional things like cottage cheese, jello and pudding with unflavored protein, which I have not been able to find in any store.  It was a sample canister from the hospital.  When I go in next week for my follow up, I am going to check out Abbott Pharmacy.  They said they have it there with different flavors.

The staff at Abbott was great.....especially the night crew.  They were VERY patient with me.  Dr. Schwartz was awesome.  Explained everything in great detail before and after surgery to myself and my family.  Great bedside manner.  Come in with a smile on his face and you can tell he loves what he does and stands by it 100%   I recommend Abbott highly.  Great place!!!

Thank You for all the Good Lucks and Get Well Soon!!!

Tammy - Congratulations!  You are on this side of it now, which is great.  I had Dr. Schwartz, too, the end of September - nearly 7 weeks ago and felt the same way about him.  You are doing great, just keep trying, it gets easier to get in the protein and the water.
I'm so glad they were able to repair your hernia - they are not fun.  Take care and the best of luck to you in the days ahead.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...
