8 days til' my surgery!!
Wow, I can't believe it's almost here!!! I feel like I've been researching, planning, & preparing for this big day next Thursday for quite some time! I had my pre-surgery class at my hospital today & got weighed in for the final time (til' the day of surgery). I'm good to go with my weight, just need to work on maintaining it (or continue to lose) til' next Thursday. I also had my pre-op doctor appt. this afternoon, so I'm all done with my EKG, chest x-ray & blood work.
I'm super excited along with a bit nervous. With all my reading, research, & questions I've asked nothing can quite prepare me for what's to come. It's the unknown that's a bit nerve-wracking. How will the surgery go? How will I feel after surgery? Will there be a lot of pain? Will I have any bad side effects? Blah, it's all running through my mind. I don't doubt my decision for a moment and I look forward to being on the flip-side of the surgery & enjoying my new life.
I've been reading about people having someone that they check in with that will post how their surgery went. Do I have one of my friends, who's not registered on this site, do this for me? I'm new to the boards so I haven't really gotten to know anyone so I'm not sure where to look for someone to help me with this. I could use all the support & well wishes I can get while I recover, but I'm not quite sure where to turn. If anyone has any ideas of what I should do that would be great!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/happy.gif)
I'm looking forward to the coffee meetup this Saturday in Eagan (if it's still going on) so I can have 1 last meetup with fellow post-op peeps to ask any last minute questions I may have. And then I have the liquid diet to look forward to on the day before the surgery, along with the 'colon cleanse'. I was looking forward to attending one more support group meeting on Wed. night but I worry I'll need to be close to a bathroom after taking that colon cleansing stuff. Does that stuff work pretty quickly? Should I stick around home after I take it?
Thanks for all your help so far & I look forward to continued support as my surgery date comes & then once I'm on the flip side.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/biggrin2.gif)

Yahoo! You are ready to go! :O)
You met a few people at coffee last Sat. and any of those people would be thrilled to be your "angel" You could just send them a private message and ask them to be your angel! :O) You will like having the encouragement from the boards, that's for sure!!!
