for those that haven't heard...
The last couple months for me and my husband had been rough. We both were laid off from our jobs 4 days apart and both have been pretty depressed about things. But I have good news!
I was offered a job this week!!! Its in my same field of work that I was doing at Carlson (Database analyst/Marketing) now at a very small company ( Out of 16 employees I will be the 2nd female they hired...kind of weird). I was very lucky to find this job because I don't have a 4-year degree so in my field its almost impossible to find someone willing to even look at your resume.
Its going to be a big change for me and a bit of a challenging job I will be doing the work that took 3 departments at my old company to do. I use to work 1 mile from my home and now I will be commuting about 70 miles (round trip) each day since my new job is in North St. Paul but you know I'm going to look at it as a positive thing and the commute will give me time to unwind from my day before getting home. Most of all I'm so thankful for the opportunity!!!!! Thanks to all of you who have sent me supportive notes while going through this time of transition!!!!
My husband and I are headed out of town (back to my hometown near Duluth) for a few days but I will be back Friday so may join you all for Coffee at MG on Saturday (it is this week right?)!!!!!

Congrats on your new job!! I am still at Carlson but wonder every day if it will be the last. My department has gone from 17 to 2 -- so its been a scary year here for sure. Lots of people still looking .... enjoy the drive - perfect time to slip a big protein shake in!

Kathy your picture looks fabulous! Congrats on your new job!! They are lucky to have you. You're up to the challenge and the company must think so too. I also listen to books on CD on my 42 mile commute. It's a good time to think about what you have ahead of you for the day and also a good time to plan for the next day. You'll do great. Hope to see you at coffee in MG.
