Hope

I had envisioned the trajectory of my journey as a series of graceful, parallel arcs from obesity to thinness, from emotional eating to healthy living, and from self-loathing to self-acceptance.  Reality has been a whole lot messier than that.  I am glad for the messiness, though, strange as it may seem.  Through that turmoil I have learned a lot about myself….most of it good.  I have experienced firsthand the power of undeserved acceptance and support from my fellow travelers when I have struggled.  I have felt myself getting stronger when I reached out to help others.  The old feelings of isolation, frustration and despair are giving way to hope, excitement and joy as I look down the road ahead of me, the ribbon of my continuing journey stretching to the horizon and beyond.

Each day is a new opportunity to know yourself more and work toward goals and dreams!  You embrace that, and it's not always easy.  The result will be a healthier, happier YOU!
