Pep talk...NOW!
I need a pep talk. I'm not even 6 months out, and I feel like I'm failing at this. I've been the same weight for the last month, and I'm scared that I'm going to stay here! I'm not okay with the weight I am currently. Is it normal to stay the same weight for a month? Why do people plateau again? I have my 6 month post op in a week, and I'm afraid of what she is going to say. I need help I think...I feel like I'm getting sucked into old habits.
Stalls ARE normal at your stage of the game. And frankly, the weight loss becomes more work the further out you are - so you need to be even more respectful of your tool. I heard once that WLS is, at first, 80% tool, 20% effort. After a while, that shifts - and eventually, weight loss is 20% tool, 80% effort.
So it's GOOD that you recognize that you're already getting sucked into old habits - because that's the first step in nipping them in the bud. Get yourself back to WLS basics, change up any eating or exercise habits that maybe have become too routine. And get to support groups and/or coffee get togethers - KEEP your tool a priority in your life! You can't allow yourself to take it for granted.
If you just let things happen, your old habits could very well take over and bite you in the butt. Make the decision that you REFUSE to fail!!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
April, YOU ROCK. Stop stressing! Once I have more time I think it would be fun to have a set workout regime together (is that the right word, regime?) Anyway, you have come SO FAR! Do not get discouraged!

No...you aren't failing, but not everyone loses the same way or at the same time. I had my RNY on 9/23 and am losing pretty slowly compared to a lot of people.
Don't assume that your plateau has anything to do with you doing something wrong, just reassess what your goals are and make sure all is where you need it to be to work.
Good Luck...and I keep reminding myself this is for life, not a competition, if I get there in two years instead of 6 months I'll still have reached goal.
