What's your opinion/ job-surgery
My two cents . . . . do not postpone the surgery and keep actively looking for work. If you are offered a job, simply explain that you are unable to start until such and such a date due to a prior commitment. I would not mention this during the interview, just if and only if you are actually offered the position.
There is a good chance they already have some other plan in place during the interim anyway (ie. a temp) so what is a few more weeks?
Sure, there are some people who might not be willing to wait for you, but that would just put you in the same scenario as if you never applied at all. Seems worth a shot to me.

I agree with the others - try to get the date pushed up, go ahead with surgery and look for a job - stay active on all fronts. One thing to consider - if you waited to have surgery until you get a new job, what if the health plan excludes WLS? I would take the opportunity in front of you!
I was afraid I was going to be laid off last summer and really pushed to have surgery in the spring - against my boss' request. I was in the middle of a project that was commissioning and had to do a lot of traveling. I decided that the surgery was more important and wanted to make sure I got it in before I possibly got laid off. Didn't get laid off and the traveling was a challenge, but I am so glad I went ahead!
Good luck!
