Can It Really Be 1 Year...

...ago today that I had my surgery?? It certainly doesn't seem possible to me, but I know it's reality, because the calendar tells me it's so!!

To all the fabulous folks here on OH...those who I've never met, and those who I have...Thank you for all your knowledge, support, and honesty regarding all aspects of this wonderful ride!

To all of you 'newbies', both in line for upcoming surgery, or just considering it...This will be the greatest decision you will make for yourselves! It will change your life, your health, and your every day enjoyment of the simplest things!

As for my progress with my Lapband...I'm down 106 pounds as of last Thursday, 10/15, when I had my 1 year followup with my surgeon...and I haven't ever had a fill in my band! I know this is out of the 'norm', and my surgeon is quite surprised, but I do know of one other bander who has had this same experience. There may be others out there who I'm unaware of also!

I will leave you with this point my daughter brought up to me...I told her that my BMI is now 39.3, and her response to me was, "You know, Mom, you wouldn't qualify for WL surgery now". She took me aback with her observation, but it's true! It's amazing to me what a difference this surgery, and one short year has accomplished!!

Everything happens for a reason, whether we want to believe that or not, and I believe your time is now...even though it would have been great to have you along with me last year, I think I needed you to lean on and help me get through my decision. Soon it will be my turn to reverse our rolls; huh?

Thank you for saying that I'm an inspiration, but you have to know that you have inspired me since before you were born...with every passing day, I am better than the day before...because of you!!

Thanx for the congrats & I agree with you...it doesn't seem possible that a year has gone by! It's pretty incredible!!

Getting St. Cloud coffee going again is a wonderful idea, now that things have slowed down for most folks. It's certainly a great way to touch base & see everyone...not to mention the wonderful sense of spending time with 'peers'!! I'll be looking forward to seeing you at coffee; okay?
