What about baby food?
Has anyone any thoughts or advice on baby food?
A friend of a friend said she ate the single stage 1 baby food for the 1st few months. She ate the beef and ham and veggies that way. Sounds weird but I have always liked the taste of baby food.... one for you, two for me....lol
Anyways, would this be ok for the 1st month or three? I figure all you would have some ideas for me!!
Thank you all

I doubt there's any harm in it, but my thought is - how will that help you to learn a new relationship with food? You won't eat baby food forever, at SOME point you're going to have to transition to REAL food - learn how different flavors and textures affect you, what works, what doesn't, etc. Relying on baby food for too long just postpones that part of your new relationship with food, and getting to know your tool.
Paul's suggestion makes the most sense to me, and it's how I dealt with food early on - I bought a bullet, and pureed whatever my family was having until I was able to progress to more solid foods. The sooner you can establish good habits (in this case, chewing your food to applesauce consistancy), to sooner you'll learn to work with your tool!
Sending up prayers and best wishes for a smooth, successful surgery for you!!!!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Yes, that does make total sense! Funny...my mother JUST bought me a Bullet. She loves hers so she bought me one. The girls use it for milk shakes....but I could easily puree my foods in it.
I have never had surgery (besides C-Section) and I guess I am expecting to be "unable to cook or get around" for a long time. I have no idea what to expect. I thought the baby food would be easier than struggling in pain to cook. I really dont know what the "pain and weakness" I have read about, really will be like.
Thanks for the nice words!

Don't dread the recovery phase...it's not that bad. You are not going to be walking around in pain and weakness. Yes, there will be soreness for a few days, and you will be tired a lot, but not to the point where you cannot function. You'll be buzzin the bullet with no problems. (I did post this on the MN board didn't I?. I am REFERRING to the food processor here!!!)
OMG!!!! You made me laff out loud and do a full snort!!!
I dont care who you are, now that WAS funny!
Ok, well, I DO have my kids convinced I cant do laundry or dishes for at least 17 days til my recheck. WOOT! I wont tell anyone...when they leave for school, I will put my in pain face away!!
Thank you!!
