I'm still here
I know I've been rather "scarce" lately - I check in regularly, but holy cow, is life a trip sometimes.
Just got back to work last Thursday after my 4 week recovery from surgery, and now I've got the crud
It truly IS always something!
So just the briefest of updates on me - I'm getting used to not having a belly button anymore. I do NOT miss my spare tire. I still hurt when I laugh (or cough, or sneeze, or do something STUPID), and I truly do believe ONEDERLAND is within my reach! Once I'm healed up enough that I can start walking and maybe even riding my bike again, that'll be what does it. For now, I'm still limited physically. See my surgoen next week, and hope he'll pull the restrictions. Or at least ease up on them.
Just wanted to wish everyone the best. I'm not gone, I'm just in slo-mo.
to you all!!!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Oh Darla, I so sympathize with you, and my incision that hurts when I cough, sneeze etc is only 2 inches long. Take good care of yourself.

The silver lining in all the work they had to do was that my "redundant skin" was removed. Not a tummy tuck, not plastic surgery, just skin removal - my surgeon felt it was necessary to aid in healing. (Apparently, major incisions heal better when not caught up in folds of flubber. Whodathunkit?)
So anyway, in removing the skin, he also removed my belly button. It's not like I was using it, ya know? Nor have I ever entertained the notion of seeing the inside of a bikini. It was just a useless "thing", as far as I'm concerned.
So you may call me Eve.

Feel better... I hear you got a cold... no?
