October 13th

 I was very happy to change my status from waiting on approval to approved and scheduled for surgery!!!! 

I've been waiting for my letter, which still didn't come in the mail today, but I got a call from SPS telling me I was approved and they were ready to schedule my surgery. I was surprised they were able to schedule it for just three weeks away.

Can't believe how fast this is happening now, but I know it is the right thing for me and I'm looking forward to posting some before and after pics and tracking my weight loss.  

Congrats!!  I hope to be just like you soon (hopefully sometime in November I'll be getting a surgery date setup).  Good luck & be sure to post pics & keep us all posted on how it goes!!  :)

Congratulations on your approval!!  That is truly a GREAT feeling!

Which hospital will you be in?  Dr. Kelly did my WLS at United.  I would be happy to talk with you if you would like.

I'll be at United as well. I've been in contact with two others on this board who also went through Dr. Kelly and they have nothing but good things to say about him so that has helped put me at ease.

When is your 3 hour REQUIRED United hospital tour/appt?
Maybe we will be there together????

I left my notes at home, but I believe its Friday the 2nd from 1-4.

Thats exactly when mine is!   10-02-09 1-4pm!

How are you dong on the "getting prepared"?  chewing, drinking, etc?
I do it, and then I dont....ugh!

Im getting worried now that I am not doing what I should.  Tell me how it is going for you, please!

The hardest part for me is not drinking with meals; that's hard to get used to. Like you, I don't always stick to it, but I know after surgery I will have to so I'm not too worried about it. It should be much easier to follow the rules post-op, and if I don't there will be a little aversion therapy to help get me back on track.
