Will they really not do my surgery???
My surgery is next Wednesday (9-30) and the pre-op prep class is this coming Thursday. I know they weigh me then but I don't know if I have until next wednesday (the day of surgery) or only until this thursday (the pre-op class). I am confused because the surgeon (Pierce) said it was ok if I was a pound or two short - and nothing anywhere says don't even bother to show up if you haven't made exactly the amount. I also get frustrated because my scale isn't exactly consistent. I can get on it and it will say one thing and 10 minutes later it will be 2 pounds up or down.
I don't want to do it in an unhealthy way - which is what they sort of force you to do if they won't do it if you're at 12 lbs and not 13 lbs. I work two jobs and work out a lot - increase my work outs too. I called a week or so ago and asked them at Fairview if I should stop going to my weight lifting class - for fear it would actually look like I didn't lose my weight. She said no - don't quit.
I'm scared and stressed. Which makes me want to eat! LOL I didn't have to do a liquid diet but I can tell you I seriously doubt I could work a 15 hour day on 3 slimfasts. I'd probably pass out. (my second job is on my feet - running around for about 5 hours). I guess if I have to I will - just to be safe. According to my scale at home - when I weigh in the morning - I made the 13lbs. But I have no idea if their scale will match mine.
What kinds of liquids do you recommend? Like carnation instant breakfast? broth, etc?

Any of the protein shakes - 3-5 a day (PNC). Supplement with broth, Crystal Light, jello, etc.
Sounds like you're not going to have a problem. As for the workouts, maybe focus more on cardio than muscle building? Muscle weighs more - which is good in the long run, 'cuz it also burns more fat. But for your purposes right now, just change it up to burn more calories. I bet you have a 3-5 pound insurance policy by the 30th!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Thanks for the tips - I was going to go stock up on that stuff anyway for after surgery so I may as well do it now. I need to have that insurance policy - I'm just made that way. Now that I think about it - I spend a great deal of my income on just insurance policies (house, car, life, motorcycle, AAA... now this! LOL)
Thanks for reading and responding. It means a LOT!
