Stretch marks.

I haven't blogged in a while.  I am down 60lbs since my surgery on 4/21/09.  I have 10cc's in my 14cc band.  Things are going great!  I have a question though, from the years of going up and down in my weight I have horrible stretch marks all over my body!  Anyone ever try one of those products they advertise on TV for?  I have heard of Bio Oil, not sure if it works, would like some opinions before I spend the money!

Thank you!

Unless you can get a testimonial, I wouldn't spend too much money on a cream or such.  When I had plastic surgery, the surgeon told me once you have stretch marks, the skin is damaged.  There may be a product out there to fade them, but make them go away?...I doubt that.

(One other advantage to plastics...you get one big icky scar in exchange for getting rid of alot of icky stretch marks!)

Bio Oil is sold everywhere, Brian. I have purchased at Target and Walgreen's. It really is not that expensive. About $11 I believe. It's so super concentrated, you really do not need much at all.

I have used it only for winter dry skin and scrapes/cuts my kids get, also used it on my surgery scar. It does help to hydrate and minimize the overall scar, but it won't make it totally unnoticeable.

I agree with Lori, nothing is really going to help aside from one big scar!

Good question and answers!   I am going to get some bio oil!

I have gained some great friends on this journey!

Hey Brian! You are rocking your band! Way to go! Glad to hear from you! I also have stretch marks... such is life I guess.

I used Vitamin E oil for mine.  And also the scar tissue from my breast reduction.  Seemed to work great.  They never go away, but are much less visible.
