WOW moment!
I went to my dear friend's memorial yesterday and saw some people that haven't seen me in a while.
I don't know if she was kidding (that's my first thought since it's hard to believe!) but a lady that knows me well came up to my roommate and me, said hi to him... then walked away... then came back and said, "Oh Helen (that's what they call me at the church), I barely recognized you skinny!"
When I came up to another woman that knew me really well she said, "Helen, is that you?"
It was just weird to get that reaction. It felt surreal!

It's going to be very interesting as you go along, Elena. You must have really changed. How fun! (I hope it was fun and not unnerving.)

Isn't that such a weird feeling? I recently has a similar experience at a class reunion. People were talking to my girlfriend and it took them a few minutes to realize it was me. I feel like I look like the same person, but it is those kinds of reactions that make me truly realize how far I have come in this journey! It does seem surreal, but you better get used to it because I am sure you will only be getting more and more and more compliments!
