4th visit today....
I had my 4th of 6 visits today and it didn't go great. I finished with the psychologist last week and she cleared me for surgery, unfortunately she included in the report that I have some slight signs of binge eating. Neither I nor my surgery center believe that that is the case but unfortunately it has to be taken out of the report or renamed as my surgery center will not do surgery on anyone with this type of eating disorder for 5 years after diagnosis has been cleared. Hopefully it is not a big deal since she did clear me for surgery. Just kind of a bummer.
I have also gained 6 pounds in the last month. I know a large part of it is due to me quitting smoking. Now my total weight loss needs to be 21 pounds in three months. It's achievable but made me kinda sad.

I too had a slight set back due to the psych eval . . .
I was excited about the surgery but also nervous because although my health is effected by my weight, I didn't feel quite enough so to warrant putting myself in risk of leaving my family prematurely however low the risks might be.
At the time I had BCBS which requires a six month medically supervised weight loss program. Because I was still hesitant I viewed the six month requirement as a good thing. I figured I'd do everything I was asked for the six months and if I had success I'd continue on with it, but if not go through with the surgery.
Well, I mentioned this when I went for my psych eval and although I was cleared in all other regards the report mentioned that I was "not quite ready for surgery yet". I was informed by the insurance coordinator that this was a big no-no. She said any mention of not being totally 100% ready for surgery could end up in being rejected when submitted to insurance for approval.
So what happened? Just another psych visit with a different psychologist and this time I made it clear I was ready. No big deal.
You should be able to do the same - go for another psych visit if your current psychologist wont change the report. It'll go fast and will be easy so try not to let it stress you out.
Losing 21 pounds on the other hand . . . not so easy . . . I wish you the best of luck.

I gained weight between my 4th & 5th visit. 4lbs! It completely sucked.
The pscycologists know what they are supposed to write and should discuss it with you so that you dont have to incure unnecessary addiotional battles, visits etc. Of course unless there is a major problem.
I have my surgery scheduled for next week and have only lost 7 of the requred 15 lbs to date. They put me on a 700 calorie pre-op diet which is helping. Lets just say it sucks but I think I've lost a few more lbs and once I've done the two clear liquid days and mag citrate 'colon blow' I will be pretty darn close.
If you are stressed about the pre-op weight loss do the 2 slimfast one under 300 calorie lean cuisine/kashi meal per day.
good luck, I hope this gets smoothed out for you.
