bracioplasty and BCBSMN

Anyone have BCBS of Minnesota and had bracioplasty covered?

Also where in MN did people go to have their plastic surgery and did they submit to insurance?

I had a consult with Dr. Michael Fasching and would love to have him do my surgery, except they said they would not submit to insurance. I have read my insurance policy regarding plastic surgery and it is a procedure they will cover if medically necessary. The office told me that they haven't heard of anyone having bracioplasty covered through BCBSMN, just wanted to see if anyone had any information otherwise.

Thanks,

I have been told that insurance has NEVER covered that!  Although I have preffered one, my surgeon would also not submit it, being a waste of his time.

Good luck!   The recovery from arms, was not that bad.
I have gained some great friends on this journey!

Dr. Adam Lokeh is absolutely FAB!  My mom has had him for her hips & stomach, as well as medial thigh.  She's going to have the bracioplasty, and it is going to be covered by Medicare & ChampVa as the excess skin has caused severe issues with her scapula & the joints in her shoulders... Hope this helps..  I think BCBS/MN will ONLY do any 'plastics' if there is a clear and defined medical need ; something that is directly effecting the health (not mental health, however) of the person and their quality of life..
Every opinion we share, every favor we perform, every moment we intently listen to someone talk about themselves is our opportunity to pass along something positive to a person who needs us.
