Weight loss month to month with RNY?
Just trying to do some research on what to expect for my surgery upcoming on Monday October 5th.
Is there any sort of "average" weight loss for the:
1st 30 days?
1st 3 months?
1st 6 months?
1st year?
I love to make little graphs and set small goals and I thought if anyone had some sort of idea of what to expect in these time frames, I would love to hear it!
Thank you!

I found a forum topic that MIGHT help you, but I'm not sure what 'lightweights' are because I'm new to this whole thing. Maybe people who started out with less to lose?

You're exactly right. Lightweights have less than 100 pounds to lose and often have surgery because of comorbidities.
My OH has trackers you can use to chart your progress. Make sure you measure yourself. I didn't and regret it. Everyone will lose at a different pace, so don't get into the comparison thing. Just remember. . . you will lose pounds OR inches. A weight stall does not mean nothing is happening to your body.

I had the Duodenal Switch ("DS") surgery and my monthly stats for loss are below for comparison.
Month 1 = 28.9 lbs.
Month 2 = 14.2 lbs.
Month 3 = 9.4 lbs.
Month 4 = 11.8 lbs.
Month 5 = 10.2 lb.s
Month 6 = 10.4 lbs.
Month 7 = 8.2 lbs.
Month 8 = 9.4 lbs.
I am currently in month 9 so I don't have any further stats yet. But, I've lost over 100 pounds within these past 9 months and would remind you that everybody's journey is "YMMV" (Your Mileage May Vary) because every body is so unique!
When you don't see a change on the scale, especially in the first few months, please remember that your tool is NOT broken. Your body needs to adjust and you will surely be losing inches! Hard to remember when the scale doesn't move, but it's all true.
Good luck & best wishes.

Thank you! I have tried SO many starvation type diets. I am sure my body will go "Oh, she's up to this again, huh" and hold on to everything for a while. I used to do competitive body building and i want to be there again someday. I LOVE lifting weights and exercising. Cant wait to not be so fat that I can actually do it again! WOOT!
Thank you!
Thank you!
