Has anyone any information of the Special K Protein Water?  Is this a good option for the days after a Lap RNY surgery since you need to be on a clear diet?

Wasn't worth the purchase for me. The only thing I could tolerate after surgery was plain water, warm chicken broth, and water diluted no sugar added apple juice. And all of those were at varying temperatures because believe it or not, it made a difference.

Don't go bonkers buying a bunch of stuff pre-op, because chances are pretty high that you won't tolerate the taste or texture, etc. after surgery.

Just stay hydrated is your first priority IMO, after surgery. The protein requirements will come in time. I can't stress it enough...just stay hydrated!!!
It is so easy to get dehydrated after surgery.

I used to drink it every day, but now just drink plain water all of the time. I asked my DR & NUT their opinion on it and they said it was ok to drink.  I just wi**** was lower in carbs.

Oops, I thought it had 14 grams of carbs, 6 grams is even better! When is your surgery?

Sugar Free popsicles are an awesome thing to keep on hand for immeadiate post op.  Keep those handy..

I could only do warm chicken broth and plain lowfat yogurt post op.. and nothing cold.. cold made my pouch tense up and then nothing would go down... water was out of the tap cool but not cold.. no ice!

Everyone varies.. propel is a good water source if you're looking for something like that...

I drink the Iced T mixed with some lemonade when I am excercising.  IMO it MUST be cold!  But don't try the cold drinks until you are a couple weeks post op.........Protien is all a matter of personal taste........and you may not like stuff post op that you did preop.......
