Maui the 15 year old, that is, for those of you who haven't met my son!  We moved him out of the ICU an hour ago-yay!  He is feeling much better and is yakking and snuggling with his girlfriend right now (Yeah, I am in the room, so snuggle is allowed for the last 15 minutes she has here.) The head pain continues, but not so severe since they got the right combination of meds for now.  CT today shows a little more swelling, but no more bleeding, so he will keep improving.  They will do a pain assesment tomorrow to see where he is at, hopefully tonight will be uneventful-tomorrow I have to go back to work!  Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers-he has a few more days here, but they should be getting better now.  It will be a long while before we know if there will be any lasting effects, but one day at a time is how we roll.
hugs to all of you-
lynn

How scary for you, just read your first post. I hope his healing is swift and complete, poor kid!

I lived through a TBI with a friend of mine, Lynn, so I know the up's and down's this road can bring. Hang in there!! I know going back to work this week will not be easy for you, but Maui is in good care, just try to remember that. He'll be so anxious to see you at the day's end, too, so it will make him work harder on the rehab portion as he'll have lots to report on when you arrive!

Praying for you both!
