Attention all slow losers...

I am losing an average of 3.33 pounds a week.  Some weeks I don't lose that much, others I lose more.

At first I got caught up in the fact that I am losing much slower than others here.. then I realized that 3.33 pounds a week is 176 pounds in 52 weeks or a years time... WOW..

So far at 46 pounds lost, I have lost the equivalent of 184 sticks of butter.. in less than 13 weeks.

If I keep consistently losing at this rate, I will be in Onederland by Thanksgiving.  That would be something to be very thankful for in my book!

Just thought I would share in case there are any other slow losers out there.  Keep the faith and try to look at the BIG picture.. We're shrinking in the right direction!!!

Dr. Benn gave me an incredible tool.. and I intend to make the most out of it!!

I have the band and have lost an average of 1.4lbs a week... it's 'slow' but dang good enough for me! Slow and steady wins the race! :) hehe

You're right and you SHOULD be proud of yourself, woman!  Keep it into perspective and you will do fine!  Think about your goal and do the math.  How much weight would you need to lose per month to get at your goal (80% of your overweight...) and you will see you're right on track or beyond!

Great job reframing your weight loss rate, Steph. I'm glad you can see this from a more positive aspect because I think you are doing great.

And remember, even though I may have lost faster than you (though I still don't think I did), you'll always have better hair!

Looking at it your way, the average loss per week is so much more rational.  3.33 is a TON.  And when you think about it, you would have been losing an average of what per week if you didn't have surgery.  It's so hard to be patient when we want to just get the weight off, but you're right, as long as we're shrinking, we'll get there.

After thinking I've been stuck at the same weight for what seemed like over a month, I just checked my ticker recorded weights over the past two months, and since 7/11 I've lost 17 pounds. I'm very happy with that, although I think I can do better with better choices.

Anyway, you're doing GREAT!  Keep it up.
