Have to get Gallbladder removed this Wed. Anyone been thru this after surgery?

How long was your recovery? Can you tell me anything helpful I should know?

I had my gallbladder out a few months after my oldest two were born and I have a lot of stress going on with the one who had heart problems. I think my recovery was about a week. The most painful part agian was the gas that they pump into you belly. So walking will help with that.

My recovery wasn't as bad as after the WLS. I got my gallbladder out about 9 months or so after surgery... it really was a lot easier on me. Afterward I had a metallic taste in my mouth for a week or two but apparently that's normal so just a heads up!

Hmm a metallic taste huh? Never heard that before but I am now prepared for weird taste, excess gas, and lots of sleep...Thats what I have heard so far anyways!

You should feel better almost immediately after waking up from having your gb removed! It should take about a week to heal. Best of luck to you. Be careful of what you eat AFTER surgery - you'll get sudden sharts (where you shi% in your pants when you try to fart).
