Swollen Taste Buds

Hi Peeps! It has been forever since I have visited here- But I am thinking I needd to get back!  I am falling into some bad habits and straying from my plan!

Anywho.... my question is- Has anyone suffered from swollen taste buds or a sore tongue that just does not seem to get better?  I keep thinking I have swollen taste buds and they will just go away... when it finally does get better, a few days pass and again my tongue is sore... Reading another post here tonight it mentioned something about burning tongue= vitamin deficency... but it doesn't really feel like burning necessarily... but I wouldn't rule out a vitamin need, I will be 18 mo in Oct  and will need to get some blood work done and find out for sure... but if anyone has some ideas I'd love to hear them!

Okay, this may sound really odd, but, is it your whole tongue, certain areas, or is it individual taste buds?  I ask because for as long as I can remember, every few months or so, I will get a single, random, inflamed taste bud.  It drives me up the wall that the one single stupid taste bud can be so annoying, but it is.  If I leave it alone, it will go away in a few days.  If it's really driving me up the wall, I'll snip it off with a nail clippers.  Nasty, I know, but there you have it.  I'm starting to wonder if it might be a yeast-related thing, because in the past, I would get them the day after eating a lot more sugar than usual.  Since yeast thrive on sugar, that's why I'm thinking it could be related.  Just a possibility.  I hope you find an answer, and that it's nothing serious!

Thanks for both of your replies- it is actually like the whole middle of my tongue... I also have small bumps on the ruff of my mouth now too- they hurt if I push my tongue up there.. I know Don't do that lol..... if it continues I may have to go in early .... I might also check on the yeast infection chance but I have not had much sugar if any so that wouldn't be the cause........
