I was in Roseville today and saw a new store..."Clothes Mentor", so I ventured in. It is a new consignment store that is still building it's inventory. They are currently buying your used clothing, purses, shoes, jewlery, accessories, perfumes, etc. Unlike TurnStyle, they pay you cash on the spot!!! I love this aspect because you don't wait to see if it sells or not, and you're not responsible for getting back in there by a certain date to pick up what hasn't sold. And you don't have to wait for a check or store credit.

They are a franchise, it appears. And I see on their website they do have other metro locations, I just hadn't heard of them yet. Has anyone here shopped at any of the other stores yet?

So, if you have name brand items you'd like to consign and make some instant cash, this may be a good option for you!

But let me just say this...I cannot wait to shop there! Awesome clothing already on the racks!!!

This store is right off Fairview Avenue & Co. Rd. B2, and the store is in the same strip center as Honey Baked Ham, JCPenny Furniture, and Babies R Us, etc. are.

Yes!!!
I haven't been there yet, but a good friend of mine told me about the Minnetonka location.  She has recently lost a good amount of weight, and said that they have a great selection of nice things, in all sizes, at good prices.  The Minnetonka location is on the frontage road on the North side of 394, in between Plymouth Road and 494, near the Ridgedale mall.  It's in the same strip as the Toys R Us.

There is a store in Maple Grove also. I heard they prefer only very good quality items. Which make it nice to shop in and sell to. I haven't been there yet, but plan to. I can never seem to make the Swapkins so this might be a good deal for me.

Yep! I sold a few shirts there... but they are picky in what they will actually take, no matter how unused your clothes may be. It's a fun place to shop!

I've been to the MG store.  It's full.  I bought a Ralph Loren fall jacket there for $20.  They have plus sizes too.  I've also sold some things there, but they are picky. I brought in a big laundry basket full of nice clothes. They only took the clothes that they were sure to sell some of mine still had the price tags that I had never worn.  Oh well, more for Swapkins, Right?
It's much better than TurnStyles.  Check it out.

I sold my maternity clothes there.  Don't bother putting clothes on hangers and making them look nice. They just throw everything in a bin and give you a take it or leave it $ amount the same day.  They took most everything but don't give you a lot on the dollar.  Enjoy shopping there, looked like a lot of cute stuff in good condition.

Sounds very cool!  But on a side note- dumb "?" I know- but what is a Swapkins??
Every opinion we share, every favor we perform, every moment we intently listen to someone talk about themselves is our opportunity to pass along something positive to a person who needs us.

Swapkins is the name of the event this MN board has once or twice a year. It is a board driven event and not sponsored by anyone, but the good people that participate on the board.

It is literally a clothing swap! You bring in clothes you've shrunk out of, and pick up "new" clothes from others that are in smaller sizes.

What is not taken is then donated to a women's shelter or other organization.

Watch the board for more info as the next one will be in October!
