Did anyone have any sucess with shampoos or styling products that help hide the hairloss we go through? I'm right at that 3 month mark and I am thinning a bit...

I know there isn't much to do to combat the hairloss.. but wondering what products people have used to help hide the loss or "pump" up the hair

Lurker post-I have just started the hair loss process but it seems to be how my hair came out after I had my kids. I have thin hair anyways so am kind of used to it. I have been using Got2B products at the recommendation of someone on the RNY board. They have 2 products called Fatastic and are collagen based. I have used the mouse and hair spray and would probably use them even them if my hair wasn't coming out. I have also heard the shampoo Nioxin-have not tried but thought about it. I did get the short hair cut too.
I also have used the vitamin by Bariatric Advantage since Day 1 and see it has biotin.
I just hope it is short and sweet..

I've heard Nioxin is good, but I'm leaning toward using GNC's hair/nail/skin formula, just because it works from the inside, not a topical thing.  Don't know if it will work, but since mine is falling out and is getting thinner, can't hurt.  It has Biotin and Zinc in it.  I'll let you know how it goes!

I can do this, I can do this, I can do this - AND SO CAN YOU!!

Hi Stacy,

I am using nioxin #4.  It is for thinning hair. I use the cleanser (shampoo), scalp therapy (conditioner) and a activator on my scalp after I am out of the shower.  Revamp salon in uptown sells a powder that almost seems like a foundation in different shades of brown that you pat on your scalp to hide the thinning (dermmatch.com).  I thought this product was ridiculous and just too much work a month ago but now use it....its easy, and best of all, it is sun protection and adds body to my hair.  Hope that helped.

For some one who's spent her life having to have her hair thinned, suddenly having very thin hair has been quite an experience for me! I swear I'll never whine about my hair again.

That said, I'm really impressed with Dove. I used the volume one (it's a red bottle and the exact title evades me) which makes your hair feel thicker and fuller, and also the severe damage one (dark blue bottle).

Best of luck!

Thanks! I may try that Dove product since the cheaper I can make this process the better right now!
