darla lou how are you
I'm good, sweetie - in perpetual slow-mo, but good. Slept with a wedge pillow in my own bed last night, took a shower today, feeling pretty good! But the drugs DO keep me in slow-mo.
Every day, there is noticable improvement. Can't ask for more than that! And I have some of the bestest friends anywhere, making sure I have more than I need.
My hubby, having been laid off for 5+ months, is relishing his role of being my personal caretaker - he even said so. Gives him something to focus on rather than his own problems and frustrations. He's even helped measure and record the volume from my drains (EUWWW!) Trav has given me a couple of back rubs, the Hazelnut has stayed off my great big owie, life is good!
Or - Life is great, percoset is good, and people are crazy. (Thank you, Billy Currington.)

Well, when I'm reclining, it looks quite fabulous! The first time I got up and showered in the hospital, tho, we're talking basset hound belly. The hernia had my upper belly so distended (I just figured it was my unfortunate body type), that now that it's all back where it belongs, there's even MORE scrotum skin on my stomach!
I am NOT complaining, I'm THRILLED to have a "flat" (if flabby) stomach! And my dearest Buffy tells me it'll be a work in progress for some time. Things that look swollen now won't be forever. I no longer have a bellybutton, but I will have a dog ear on either side of my scar - and I'm SOOOOO fine with that! I think I shall name them Thelma and Louise.
I was in 4 nights. And yes, the procedure was WIDE open! I think you could have parked a JEEP in that sucker. But it's all good, I'm beyond grateful. Best of all, the masses my OB removed did NOT look cancerous. He's seen enough cancer in his career to recognize it when he sees it. And the fact that we haven't heard back from pathology yet has to be a good sign. No news is good news, right?
Thanks for caring, Farrah!! I hope your procedure goes very well - and I REALLY wish I had your massaging recliner - DANG!

Good to hear each day you're feeling a noticable improvement. I hope the pathology results are favorable and you continue to heal real quick-like. (Man, does that sound hick?) OMG- Naming the dog ears, that's TOO funny! Rest well!
