I have had three at one time!  Two in one leg and one in another.  At the same time I had a hgb of 4.2 and was still able to walk into the hospital.  After that though I don't remember much as I started to fade in and out of consciousness.  I remember them hurting like the dickens before I went to the hospital and I took Tylenol #3 for pain that I already had at home (bad choice) because it was masking the problem.  I was on bedrest in the hospital for a week.  They had to give me several units of blood and blood thinner so that was tricky.  I was not scared until the later part of the week when I realized what was going on so that may have been a blessing too.  If you would like to talk, PM me and I'll give you my phone number.
Hope you feel better soon as you have had your share of mishaps huh!?

My dad has it. He and i were scheduled for surgery a week apart from each other and through God's work, my surgery was denied and a week after his, he wasn't feeling right. When he gave me the symptoms, I said clot!! After 3 hours of convincing, we got in to ER (it was a weekend) and the clot was 2 feet long in his leg. Doc said another hour and he could have died! Once it was diagnosed and he was put on cumidin, he spent a week in the hospital while they tried to break it up. As of today, 2 years later, he still has it, he is still medicated and goes in every 3 months to make sure the little flow he has left is still there. He would be more than happy to talk with you. Just PM me if you are interested. Good luck!

I too have DVT. First found 4 years ago. Like the first poster, I too walked into the hospital for an ultrasound, but didn't walk out for a week. Was on total bed rest for the week while they tried to break the clot up. Was on blood thinners for awhile after.

Now, still have it but am managing with it. Go in for follow ups every 6 mos.

If you want, please PM me.

Kristi
