OT....another med problem

On Saturday I noticed that my leg (the one that I had my ankle surgery on) was pretty swollen and hurting...the who leg.  I called my orthopedic surgeon and he told me to go to the ER so I did...blood clot...can you believe that???  So I was in the hospital for 2 nights, I am home now.  I am on Lovenox, coumadin and percocet...and bed rest.  I am really sick of all this...and let me tell you that a DVT hurts like hell.  All this crap that has happened to me lately has got to stop....its making me crazy!!!

  I'm so glad you went and had that checked out right away - it can be very dangerous.  Good for you.  I'm sorry you are having troubles, but it sounds like you are getting good care and doing your part.  The rest you can't control.  (I may need to be reminded of this some day!)

Yeah I don't know know why all this is happening to me....it makes me so sad!!!  I am on so many blood thinners and pain meds now I feel like a pharmacy!  This is making me feel like I am 80!  Its hard to appreciate my weight loss when my leg is so puffy.....my non affected leg is looking thinner for sure..lol.

I am sorry....I try not to complain guys...but this is all to much for me to handle!  I feel like I am on a down hill spiral....waiting to hit rock bottom!!

Oh Lisa....my gosh...I hope this is the last of your medical problems. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

I was sorry to read about the latest complication, but like Mary said, I am glad you went and had it checked out and got on the blood thinners.  I hear you about the drugs and feeling old- but this too shall pass, i promise!!  I am sending you healing vibes and thoughts for a peaceful, no more complication recovery.  Make sure you are following your doc's rules about movement and bed rest- even if it is driving you nuts!

Glad to hear you got it checked out and are on the mend.  That happened to me three years ago (but upper leg).  And you're right - it hurt like hell!  They did a CT on me and found it had moved into my lungs, but I hadn't yet had those symptoms.  I'm on Coumadin for the rest of my life as I had a bone marrow biopsy (yeah, that was fun!) and was found to have Factor V Leiden, a defective gene that can cause blood clotting.  I was stuck in the hospital for two weeks that time!

Here's to nothing else bad happening to you...you've had enough!

Oh geez Lisa, you poor thing!  Good that you went to the ER right away, blood clots are so dangerous.   I hope nothing else bad happens, you've had enough the past weeks to last a lifetime.  It can only get better from here, try to stay positive.
