New here couple of questions

Any one on this board had surgery in Duluth MN?

I have signed up for gastric bypass, but I have not heard a thing from the Duluth Clinic.

How long did it take to get to surgery for you?

I have gone to the Seminar, the RN and two nutritionist visits.

I have had my mental exam tests turned in and yet I hear nothing from them.  Am I missing something?


 

 

 

Hi and WELCOME!!!!!!  I had my surgery in the cities and it took 2 months from the time i decided to have surgery until the day of my surgery.  Everything went so fast and it is the best thing i have ever done.  You seem to be on a roll... keep on em and you will know soon.  Good luck to you and keep us updated........

Boy how I wish the post above me was my story too...

My surgery was 1 year and 2 months from the time I attended the seminar.  I was declined 3 times in the process - even though by BMI was 42 and I had diabetes that we could not control.  The nurse who got me approved told me it was the worst insurance claim she ever had to deal with -- so I imagine yours HAS to be better :)

It does take 2-3 weeks after they mail in the paperwork to the insurance company to hear back... give them a call and ask! 

Hi Longtime, I am Kathy.  I am having my surgery at St. Mary's in Duluth.  Went to my seminar in Feb.  Insurance required 6 months of supervied diet.
I heard that they filed my insurance and I was approved on Aug. 7, spent the weekend wondering and waiting for the surgery scheduler to return my call.  I finally heard back from them on 11th.  Had my pre-op teaching session and liquiet diet session on the 12th and my RNY will be on Sept. 2.  I have 3 weeks of liquids before surgery due to my bmi of over 50.  Today is day 6 of the liquid diet.  Not too bad, there are moments that I want more to eat.  But for the sake of my future, I can do this.
