I survived a week of vacation on the liquid diet... but wth?

I somehow managed to come away from vacation relatively unscathed.  Everyone was eating and drinking all around me (and pretty constantly).  I waivered a few times, but for the most part am proud of myself.  Yay me!  The only thing I am ticked about is that I show about a 5 lb loss and I was expecting more (don't we all)!  I know I couldn't get 5 of those "shakes" in, but I honestly gag a little while drinking the Bariatric Advantage meal replacement stuff.  I think it is so gross.  I tried really hard to get to 1000 calories with chicken broth and other very low cal stuff to make up for it.  I have three more days on this and then I'm done.  I don't know how people can do it for a month.  Maybe they have better tasting stuff?!?!

Thank you for all of your words of encouragement while I was away.  I thought I would have wireless internet access, but I didn't, so I did not read them until today.

My surgery is Tuesday and I'm both extremely excited and freaked out at the same time.  Can't wait to join all of you on the loser's bench!!!

You did great. Sounds like you are ready for next week.  I can understand the mix of emotions, I'm not even scheduled yet, and still can feel the roller-coaster!  

Coming off vacation on a LD is HUGE!!  You're so strong.  You'll be glad to stayed on the path.

You all are the best!  I just wanted to update and let you know that the nurse was very happy with my 5 lb weight loss and so I've decided to just be happy and stop whining about it.  I swear, this liquid diet is the hardest thing I've done in a very, very long time!  Only 3 more days!!
