I've posted on here just 2x and have been just lurking.  I've been so turned upside down with all the loop-holes and appts needed and this and that but 15 minutes ago, Rachel and St. Paul Surgeons just called me and said "YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED!!!!!"  I started crying!
I called my mom who does daily dialysis and she started crying too!  (Then she got in trouble for answering her phone in the hospital...sorry mom!!)

OMG!!!  I am so excited!!!  I cannot believe that FINALLY this IS going to happen for me!  I have to wait for the paper approval letter to come to my mail, then I call and schedule my surgeons appt, then....then...OMG!!!  I get to have the Roux-en-Y surgery!!!!

I am sorry if I am oozing excitement all over this, but I am SOOOOOOOO excited!

I'll be on here a lot now and hopefully will learn how to display my chart things and all the other fun stuff I see on here!

WOOOOOOOOT!!!!!

Congratulations!  Oozing is appropriate here.  Who else can be excited for you like those of us that have been there.  Enjoy the ride.  It's the best thing I've ever done for myself.  Now it's your turn.

I LOVE your excitement!  Being close to 2.5 years out, it's a good thing to remember the nerves, the excitement, the WHY of going through all this!

You just ask away, there's a whole mess of us ready and willing to share our experiences with you!

Great news, Cat!  I, too, have been lurking over the past several months.  I got my approval yesterday and decided to jump in the pool.  I know what you mean about that sense of it FINALLY happening.  It all feels a little unreal, no?

It really does seem surreal.  I keep thinking "what will I be like 1 year from today?"  I see myself off all of this blood pressure meds, not panting at the top of my office stairs.  I have been buying $25.00 gift cards to Fashion Bug for when I can shop on the regular side.  I just cant wait til I feel better, feel energetic and without the pills I need so I dont stroke out like my dad did.

He is a thin man, but high blood pressure is in every one of my family members and now he is paralyzed.  I refuse to be unhealthy anymore and I have been given a great gift now.

Here's to the future!!!!!
