Insurance Approval

I've been lurking around here for a few months not really believing that this was going to happen, but today I got the call that I am approved for surgery.  I had my consult with my surgeon way back last October, and it has been quite a meandering road.  I can't believe I got insurance approval on the first try.  

As you can see from info. over there, I am having duodenal switch surgery with Dr. Ikramuddin on September 30 (or maybe September 15 -- they might move it up).  I guess it really is going to happen.  I feel numb.

Anyway, it feels like a good time to jump in and say "hi."   I look forward to getting to know you guys.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!   Start getting yourself in the habit of practicing your NEW habits now!  And come here with all your concerns, questions and fears - this is a wonderful bunch of people who are all very supportive and willing to share stories and experience, it's yours for the asking!

Way to go!  Congratulations on the approval.  The fun, and the work, begins now.  I just got approved on Friday--and I've told those around me: "it won't make me skinny; but it will LET me get skinny".

Thanks, guys!  I'm very excited, but also scared.  And I know what you mean about it not making me skinny.  It's a tool, it's a tool...that's my mantra.  I still have some hard work coming up.
