I'm finally starting to feel human again - it was 7 weeks today I had my surgery. I've done nothing too exciting this summer, but this weekend I'll be in Oronoco and Rochester for 3 days of ANTIQUES!! Of course I'm packing all my food so there will be fewer possibilites of foamies, retching and spewing....although it wouldn't be a weekend without giant belches and a couple of retches! I am really looking forward to getting out of town to do something FUN!

Belching is good, I like belching.  It feels good, AND it's funny!

Wretching tho?  Not so much... any idea why you're doing that so regularly???

Its August already and I feel like I haven't even had a chance to be outside yet this summer.  My husband works every Saturday so we don't get to venture to far.  My plan for the rest of the summer is to relax and enjoy it.  I'm going back to school starting in 2 weeks.  I've been in and out of college since I graduated high school (12 years ago) and have a 2 year Business Management degree a long with a bunch of credits that don't amount to much right now but finally pushing myself to finish up and get that 4 year degree.  In order to do this I have to pass Algebra!!!  I've taken it 5 times but now that i'm a little more deciplined and serious about it I feel its time to finally tackle it.  Its weird because I use algebra on a daily basis in my job so don't know why the class is so hard for me.

This weekend my mom's side of the family all head up to the town my great grampa lives in to celebrate "Watermelon Days".. you know how every small town in MN has some kind of "day" or festival in the summer.. The last 4 years we've all be converging up there as my great grampa was reaching the 100 year mark.. and now this year he's 101.. last year when he turned 100 he declared he was going to live to 108.. and we figure he probably will!  So we use the weekend to all get together, and to celebrate his birthday early.. and being that he's the oldest living person in his small town.. he gets to ride in the dinky saturday afternoon parade (tractors, local school band, some firemen, local polititians, and some other funny things..).. he hates getting in the car to go but loves riding in the parade once he gets there... so thats the next 4 1/2 days!  Otherwise its just State Fair and then it's fall and apple orchards and hayrides..

How cool to still have your great grampa!!!  Tell him your friend Darla wishes him the happiest birthday ever!

I love fall best - apple orchards, cooler camping weather, bonfires & mosquito-less evenings...  mmmm.....

Hey!  I grew up in SE Minnesota and have been to watermelon days!  But not for many, many years!  Have fun!

This weekend Shirley and I are going to Door County, Wisconsin with my parents.  My Dad and I will do a little salmon fishing, followed by several days of shopping and sightseeing ( I expect there to be a fair number of "Yes, Dear" moments involved in that endeavor).

On the weekend of August 22nd, we are framing up a screen porch for our cabin.   Finishing up the screen porch will give me good reasons (excuses, really) to go up to the lake every few weeks all fall.  That will no doubt be a hardship that I will just have to bear.

We may go to the State Fair this year, which I avoided for obvious reasons last year, but I would rather go for a weekend of bike riding in southern Minnesota or somewhere in Wisconsin.

Yeah, I feel for ya.  That whole obligation of heading up to the lake place?  Drag...

I love the State fair - and not even for the food!  (although I DO love me some cheese curds...)  I love the barns and all the ridiculous booths selling things you didn't know you needed

I love it all!  We all need "stuff" to look forward to, and to recognize events when some food planning would be a good idea!

I almost forgot one of my upcoming FUN moments - I'm going with a certain dancing fool I know (and love!) to see Jeff Dunham at the State Fair!!!   WAHOO!!!  He's hilarious - look him up on youtube if you're not familiar!

I love to laugh, that's a fact!
