Fairview Riverside Hospital

Hi all!  I was just wondering if anyone has had surgery @ Fairview University's Riverside Campus..??  My only experience is @ the U itself, but due to DaVinci location issues, they had to move me to Riverside.  Just curious about people's experiences there, and any advice about what to expect in my stay there.. Thanks!!!

Surgery in 10 days..!! WHEW HEW

I know a couple of people who have had lapbands there and they said it was fine.  I am not sure how many DS'ers have been done there, but it wouldn't be many, so be mindful of the staff not understanding your dietary requirements like they would for a bypass or band.

I had my RNY there. (and I work there) I will say my surgical experience was great-the people, the professionalism. I did have some issues with the floor nurses there. I had 2 nurses who were great but one not so great-she was busy...I was never afraid to ask for pain meds. I was only in there just overnight was discharged around 6pm the next day. Of course we are under construction so it is a little challenge for visitors. Good luck with your surgery- Your Dr. knows what he is doing.

Mary and I have a friend that had the DS at Fairview Riverside. He thought the doctors and every one was great. He had his surgery march of 08. His progress has been amazing and is one of the reasons for us to decide to have surgery also.  Good luck with your surgery!
