Finally!?!?!?!? - kinda long - sorry!
Ok, I know this sounds strange, but I am SOOOOO happy. I finally got another topical yeast infection in my bellybutton.
Ok, I had several of them the first summer/fall after surgery, but last summer...NOTHING! So far this summer...nothing...UNTIL Friday. I noticed that I had some pain (very mild) around the area where my pants button...I have had it where the button will press into the excess skin and cause pain, but this felt different...I checked it out...and I had a lovely yeast infection in ther! YEAH! I ran to get my camera and take a picture of it right away....
So...how long do I have to document this? I am putting a prescribed ointment that I had from pre-surgery for this same type of thing in a different location. Should I take pics of it every day, every other, just when one starts, what? I would like to get documentation of these things so I can take them to my PCP and he can make a recommendation for PS....
From my fingers to God's ears, this will happen sooner rather than later....but insurance won't do anything unless medically necessary.
I do have one other medical reason I may need this - I am having GREAT difficulty getting my portal for my insulin pump and the divice for the sensor inserted into my abdomen/hip/butt area due to the loose skin...that may be a bigger decider than the yeast infection, but every little bit helps, I say.
I just had to share - and ask that one question...sorry this is so long...I know...I'm rambling!

I know my health plan had a number of requirements I needed to meet before being approved!
good luck!
I have to see my PCP for other stuff as well, and have an appt. with him next Wednesday (the 19th). I will check with him on documenting this and a few other things as well....

As for the insulin pump/port, make sure your PCP notes that also. Or, if you see an endocrinologist for your diabetes, it may be better documented by him/her, or they may be willing to write a letter of support as well, stating how critical it is to your health to have your pump working correctly and the skin is preventing that.
Good luck!
I don't see an endocrinologist, but my PCP is an internal medicine doctor that has a minor specialty in diabetes...so he is pretty knowledgable in that area.
I will definately tell him about the issues with getting my port inserted and with the sensor that I have too...can't use it like I should be able to because of the skin issues.
Thanks for the support!
