The BIGGEST WOW I've ever had
I thought fitting into a size 14 (not plus size) was the biggest wow. I was wrong.
I thought getting below 200 was the biggest wow. I was wrong. It gets much better than that.
I thought reaching sizes that were single digit numbers was the biggest wow. I was wrong.
I thought reaching my goal weight of 150 was the biggest wow. I was wrong.
I thought fitting in a bathtub with lots of extra room on the sides was the biggest wow. I was oh, so wrong.
I thought getting below my goal weight was my biggest wow. I was wrong.
The biggest WOW happened this weekend. And only those of you who are here in this forum will truly understand this. And hopefully get a big of a chuckle out of it, too. Like I did.
I got married in 2000. The wedding dress I picked out was perfect for a plus size, 29 year old woman. It wasn't sleevelss. It was very simple with beads on top. Rather tent-like. But hey, I was 250 lbs. You can't be picky at that point. When I bought it, it was a size 24/26.
I found the wedding dress this weekend - I had it stashed away in a suitcase. I have just moved and my husband and I divorced. So the thought of a wedding dress just wasn't on my mind. When I opened up the suitcase, there it was. It was bittersweet. Remembering how happy I was on my wedding day. And now, 9 years later, I'm no longer married. But hey, I'm crazy. And only one of my daughters was at home. So I tried on the wedding dress.
The wedding dress was a size 24/26. I now wear a size 4. What does that mean? I am 10 sizes SMALLER than I was on my wedding day. I tried like crazy to have my daughter take my picture - which really didn't do it justice anyway. But she refused. I think I will wait until my other daughter comes home on Wednesday and ask her to take a picture. I could have put another person in that dress.
10 Sizes Smaller today! Who would have ever guessed.
I love my life. I love my friends here. I love sharing these crazy WOW moments with people who understand.
Now what do I do with the dress?

Kelly:
Congratulations on being able to recognize your big WOW moment. As far as the dress goes, if it doesn't hold too many emotional attachments for you as a complete garment, I think you might consider using it for pieces in "life quilts" for yourself and your daughters that reflect its relevance in the fabric of your respective lives even as you continue on your fantastically successful WLS journey. Either that or you could make it into a cape and parade about as Super Kelly.

Sell it on E-Bay or Craigs List! There are lots of big gals who would love to have it!
What a wonderful measure of your success. I married at a very high weight, too, and will have to do the same when my time comes.
