Foamy?
Today was one of those days when all I wanted to do was eat.
I started out good with yogurt and banana for breakfast, although the portions were too big.
I ate lunch at Noodles and ate way too fast and too much. I was in such pain. I thought I would puke, but to my suprise all that came up was foam and a lot of it. I went home and went straight to bed for a couple of hours. What happened? Has this happened to anyone else?

You have experienced the dreaded foamies. I had a few of those experiences when I ate something that got stuck when I was just a few months out. Not pleasant. I remember wishing I could puke, but that didn't happen. A tiny sip of diet Coke dissolved enough of whatever was stuck to let it go down, but that hurt even worse for a few minutes....like choking, but you can still breathe. I am a man, so it took more than one of those experiences to teach me to chew, chew, chew and to avoid dry portions of meat.

Did you eat noodles at Noodles? But who knows, you don't exactly know what the restaurant is putting in there.. it could have been an ingredient or oil or who knows what that didn't agree with you.. or just plain and simple the noodles... That could be the culprit... I hate foamies too.. Had them a few times now.. Believe me I've forgotten and ate too fast and not chewed too..
I had a really good dry heave episode last week.. no idea even why... gotta luv it huh? After my 10 mins of dry heaves I crashed and burned in my bed for a couple of hours too.

Some people get the foamies, some of us "slime". Either way, you're stuck. Something does NOT want to pass through your stoma, and your pouch is trying to lube it's way through. It's very unpleasant.
Gross as it is, I found that if I could tickle the 'ol punching bag and make myself throw it up, I felt IMMEDIATE relief!! And it's not like "normal" puking, it's just the offending bits coming back out the way they went in.
Another fairly common "symptom" of being stuck is when you feel like Godzilla has his fist around your pouch, right behind your sternum, and is SQUEEZING it every 20-30 seconds, trying to get those same offending bits to pass through. THAT HURTS. IMHO, a moment of upchucking is FAR less traumatic than enduring that for however long it might go on!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Ah yes the foamies. At two years out I have not had a lot of foamie issues, yet today, the good ole pouch reminded me that we are always subject to issues. I have had debilitating back pain for about 3 weeks now. Over the weekend I took some of the Lortab the nice Dr. gave me, it was wonderful. No problem, I could tolerate life, felt human. Fast forward to today. Took some pain meds at 9am at work. OMG I spent the day praying for death, sitting with a cup on my desk because each time the foamie**** I wasnt sure if I would be able to make it to the bathroom or not. Thank god most of the people were out of the office today. I was sweating, and dizzy, and paler than the vampires on Twilight. And since our bodies don't absorb things normally, it was a lovely all day event. On a positive note, I found a support group here in town and went to my first support meeting since moving to Bismarck.
