Where are they all at?

So, I am looking for support groups and I know there are many of them up in the cities, or in that area, but I am not sure where they are as well as the dates & times that they meet.  Can anyone help me?  I have the Lap Band but am interested in any kind of WLS support groups.  Thanks in advance!

Every other weekend there are Saturday AM coffee's around the twin cities that are attended by us OH'ers.. so you can feel free to drop in on any of those. The "usual" locations are Burnsville, Eagan, West St Paul or Roseville, and Maple Grove.  Normal meeting time is 8:30 am...

Does your Mankato bariatric surgeon's office offer a support group?

I know many bariatric programs (including mine) offer monthly support group meetings but I believe you have to be a patient of that clinic.. i'm not sure if they are open to just anyone.  Others may have more insight on that than I do...

Hello, I will have to attend one of these.  I do attend a support group down in Blue Earth where I was banded, but I would like to get more support and see what else is out there.

I have been "crashing" Unity support groups (went to the one at Mercy and one at Elk River) and I had my surgery at PNC.  Unity lets anyone come to theirs, and I know PNC does too.

I know you are in Mankato, so that doesn't really help.  Your surgeon's office should have a support group if they are a Center of Excellence.

Support, either in a formal group or a coffee or even just on OH is so important.

I love OH and wish I could be on here more often!  I feel that I'm doing good and on the right track, but would still like more support & to just get out there and see what else is out there.  Does that make sense?  I have not found any other support groups other than the one down in Blue Earth where I go and then up in the cities area.  I looked up & found the info on Unity's support groups, I definitely want to attend.  What is PNC?

Unity has a great support group for LapBanders. They informally meet every Sunday evening in Coon Rapids to chat and have coffee... then some Mondays the hospital has a formal LapBand-specific support group. PNC used to... but they canceled theirs, unfortunately.
